Katerina Panopoulou AKA Katrin the Thrill is a singer/songwriter based out of Athens, Greece who has been compared to the likes of PJ Harvey, Cat Power, Patti Smith and even Radiohead.
In 2003 she helped form the band Dementia Praecox (along with guitarist Gina Dimakopoulou, violinist Katerina Michailidi, bassist Iakovos Siaparinas and drummer Dimitris Panagiotopoulos), but after moving to London she decided to pursue a career as a solo acoustic artist.
Her music has been praised by the likes of Pure Grain Audio, Target Audience and Loud Horizon, and in 2007 she participated in the Coca Cola Soundwave competition and ended up winning a place among the best five music performances; (one of her tracks, “If You Believe in Dreams,” was even included in the Music on the Coke Side of Life compilation). Since then, Katerina has performed at major festivals and events like European Music Day, Bios Athens Gay Pride and Festival Against Racism, and even opened for Manic Street Preachers, Greg Dulli and Electrelane.
