Static in the Mind's Eye (2012)

Every once in a while you come across a band that is so awesome you wonder why you haven’t heard of them before. Consider Buzzmutt one of those bands.

The group is based out of San Francisco and consists of Chase Anthony, Jesse Olswang, Eric Alonzo and Scott Franklin. They just released their first album (Static in the Mind’s Eye) in July, and while many of the tracks sound so psychedelically garage they can be compared to the likes of Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Black Lips, others like “Hide My Eyes” have a slight country twang, while “Sharp Like Razor” sounds straight up Stooges/Sex Pistols.

Musically, the album itself is also experienced as a journey, complete with dark and winding paths, a few thunderstorms, strange characters, some pleasant surprises….and at least one or two alien beings.

You can purchase the album as a name-your-price download here.
