Video: Harry Oakwood (Millionaire) – “Hours” {Alt-Folk}

August 1, 2012 in Alt-Folk, Folk, independent bands by Rex

After earning a massive following in London with their monthly musical event series “Harry Oakwood Night,” the mysterious folksters Harry Oakwood (Millionaire) – yes, that is their real band name – are now ready to introduce their debut EP to the masses.

The band’s sound is influenced by the likes of Patrick Watson, The Band, Lowell George and Elliot Smith, and their music even caught the attention of the famed comedian/musician Tim Minchin, who eventually invited the band to support him for a sold-out performance at Somerset House last month. The group also recently performed at LSO St. Luke’s with one of Britain’s most notable orchestras (Aurora Orchestra), and the performance was broadcasted live on Radio 3.

Check out one of the band’s new videos below, and to listen to some more tunes off their recent EP click here.

The next “Harry Oakwood Night” is slated for August 10th at The Great Northern Railway Tavern in London; for more info on their upcoming shows click here.
