Isaac Indiana has only been around for less than a year, but after making a mark in their hometown the Devon-based five-piece are now venturing off into other musical territory, and are even slated to perform at the Beach Break Live Festival in June along with the Friendly Fires, the Maccabees and Dizzee Rascal.
With an average age of 21, the band consists of Andy Jackson on vocals and guitar, Tom Sturges on guitar and saxophone, Ben Houghton on bass, Ben Homer on keys and Sam Hall on drums. Ben Homer is a professional session musician and is involved in numerous other Devon-based bands (such as the Sarah Jory Band), and will be touring with the Nolan Sisters in August, while Sam also plays guitar in The Goats That Shit Gold, and Tom performs with the duo P.S.
Thanks to their differing musical backgrounds each of the band members bring their own influences to the group, and have been compared to the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Morrissey, Phoenix, Stereophonics and Two Door Cinema Club.
The group recently recorded a studio-produced EP entitled Speak Up which was recorded at Orbital Studio in Jersey with the help of Thomas Saunter, and plan on recording an album by this Christmas.
If you like what you hear then you should head on over to the band’s Bandcamp page to purchase the digital download for as little as ₤3, and you can also stream the entire EP at their official website.
